What is the best way to consume truffles?

Every experienced psychonaut will have a personal preference as to how he or she works truffles consumes. There are a number of different ways to induce the magical effects of truffles, the effect of which differs mainly in the strength of the trip. Other factors such as taste and comfort also play a role in the experience of the different consumption methods. In this blog we will highlight the most common and, in our opinion, best ways, so that you know what to do on your next psychedelic trip.

1. Simply chew and eat

By far the most common and easy method is to simply eat the truffles fresh as they come out of the package. You don't need anything else with this, except maybe a glass of water to wash away the taste. It is important to determine in advance how much you are going to eat. Make sure you chew the truffles well and for a long time for optimal effect. The taste is generally not experienced as pleasant and also varies slightly per species. If you really cannot tolerate the taste, or you just want to make the eating experience a bit more pleasant, it is possible to eat the truffles together with something else. The effect may therefore be less strong. Foods that are ideal to eat with truffles are, for example, yogurt and dark chocolatecola. Although eating fresh truffles is not a tasty experience, it is one of the better ones because of its effectiveness.

2. Fresh truffle tea

Another disadvantage that often occurs with the first method is that a feeling of nausea occurs after eating the truffles. Although this almost always passes on its own, it is certainly an uncomfortable moment in the run-up to the actual trip. Fortunately, there is a solution for this: truffle tea. If you make an infusion of fresh truffles in hot water (note, not boiling water), a certain enzyme is broken down, which in many cases can cause nausea. However, the active substance remains (almost completely) unaffected, provided you do not use water that is too hot. To support this benefit, it is a good idea to first make ginger tea with fresh pieces of ginger, and then add the truffles when the water is less hot. Ginger has a soothing effect on the stomach and helps with the digestion of food. For optimal effect, you still eat the truffle pieces, but be aware that the effects may be less strong than if you eat the truffles.

3. Lemon Tek

One of the favorites of advanced travelers: Lemon Tek. Lemon tekking, as it is also called, provides a lightning-fast truffle trip. At least, the effects occur very quickly. The acid of the lemon juice used for this converts the psilocybin into psilocin, the actual active substance through which you experience the tripping effects. Normally, the psilocybin molecule is converted into psilocin by the stomach acid, which of course takes time. By taking converted psilocybin (psilocin), this time-consuming process is skipped and the body responds immediately. Moreover, the effects can feel extra intense. That is why this method is especially suitable for people who have already had several experiences with truffles. To prepare a lemon tek: Cut the truffles into small pieces and put them in a glass. Then squeeze one or two lemons and add the juice to the truffles. Stir it together and let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes, mixing frequently. Your lemon tek is ready!
