FAQ's - What exactly are truffles?

Category: Truffles

Truffles are underground sclerotia of certain mushrooms – containing psychoactive substances such as psilocybin. Truffles are often described as ‘magic truffles’ because they contain the same psychoactive substances as psilocybin mushrooms. Instead of above-ground mushrooms, the fungus forms as sclerotia, compact and underground. This gives truffles their unique texture and flavour.

Effects can range from mild to intense depending on strain, dose, and personal sensitivity. Common varieties: lions mane, happy tuber, mush magic, maka. Onset is usually within 20–60 minutes, peaking at 1–2 hours, and lasting 4–6 hours.

Preparation: provide a safe environment, hydration and company. Be aware of risks such as nausea, emotional intensity or unwanted trips. Start with low dosage, especially as a beginner.

Disclaimer: Laws differ per country and sometimes per municipality. Always check local regulations before ordering or consuming.
