FAQ's - What is the difference between CBD and THC?

Category: CBD

CBD does not get you high, while THC does have psychoactive effects and therefore influences your consciousness.

CBD (cannabidiol) and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) are both cannabinoids from the cannabis plant, but their effects are completely different. THC is the substance that gets you high – it changes your perception, mood and behavior.

CBD doesn't do that. It affects your body in a more subtle way via the endocannabinoid system. Think relaxation, calmer feelings, better sleep - but you stay completely sober.

In the Netherlands, THC is regulated and may only be sold in medicinal cannabis or tolerated coffee shops. CBD with a negligible THC content (<0,05%) is legal and freely available, such as at Cannabis Bakehouse with brands such as Cibdol. CBD is therefore your option if you want to feel the plant power without being stoned. Please note: some CBD products contain traces of THC (full-spectrum), so always check the lab results and packaging.
