Description

The importance of fiber

Fibers are very important for the intestines: they provide a voluminous intestinal content and thus a better feeling of satiety, better intestinal peristalsis and better stools. The average fiber consumption in the Netherlands is 20 grams per day, while ideally this should be at least 50 grams.

Psyllium as binding agent in gluten-free bread

Psyllium can be used as a binder in gluten-free bread because of its highly absorbent properties. This property replaces the effect that gluten normally has.

Ensure adequate fluid intake when using Psyllium.
